A Lower Crossover, By Design

Ghost 2.0 is rated 80Hz–20kHz — a substantially deeper low end than XSCACE's slim array speakers — which means the Juniper subwoofer, rated to 25Hz, only has to cover the octave and a half below that rather than the much wider gap a slim array plus sub combination has to bridge. That narrower handoff between speaker and subwoofer is a genuine reason to reach for a Ghost-class speaker specifically when a room's brief is cinematic surround sound rather than ambient background listening.

Planned, controlled and calibrated

Every XSCACE installation follows the same three stages: planned in the simulator, controlled from the app that matches the hardware, and calibrated with measurement. A living room has one or two seats that matter and a great many surfaces that do not cooperate.

Day-to-day control is XSCACE Controller on iOS and Android. It handles volume, EQ and grouping, and the streaming amplifiers also appear natively as AirPlay 2 and Spotify Connect targets, so the app is for control rather than for getting audio into the room.

Calibrated

The calibration toolkit inside XSCACE Studio measures what the room actually does — eleven instruments covering SPL, delay, levels, polarity, frequency response, THD, sub alignment, transfer function, RT60, RTA and export, free on macOS. Here the ones that earn their place are:
