Native, Not Bridged
The architectural audio category has a recurring compromise: a competent amplifier with a streaming dongle attached to its analogue input. The dongle introduces failure points — its own power supply, its own firmware update cycle, its own network dependency independent of the amplifier. In a luxury residential installation, that second device is a second thing that can fail at 11pm on a Friday.
The Air Mini’s streaming stack is firmware, not hardware. AirPlay 2, Bluetooth 5.0, and Spotify Connect are not additions — they are the unit. When the Air Mini wakes, streaming is ready. No handshakes, no sync delays, no secondary device to troubleshoot.
AirPlay 2, Bluetooth 5.0, Spotify Connect
AirPlay 2 enables multi-room grouping directly from the Apple Home app — in a multi-room Air series installation, rooms are grouped from a single interface with no additional configuration. Bluetooth 5.0 handles direct-device connections for guests who are not on the local network. Spotify Connect makes the Air Mini a visible playback target in the Spotify app itself — the phone is the remote, not the relay.

X-Sense AI: Walk the Room, Get the EQ
Every Air Mini ships with X-Sense AI in the XSCACE Controller app. Pick a target sound — Flat, Harman, Warm, Bright, Jazz or Cinema — and the Air Mini plays pink noise through the speakers it feeds while you walk the listening area for thirty seconds. The phone's microphone records the walk, X-Sense Spatial maps the room and predicts where bass will build up, and the app suggests a corrective EQ that is applied to the Air Mini's own DSP in one tap. No measurement microphone, no consultant, and it switches off whenever you like.
Control System Integration
For installations with professional control infrastructure, the Air Mini supports IP control via the XSCACE network protocol — full integration with Crestron, Control4, and Savant at launch. Two-way communication handles both command execution and status reporting, so the control system knows the state of the amplifier, not just what it was last told to do.
Where It Goes
The Air Mini is the right tool when a rack room is not part of the brief:

Where the Air Mini Fits in the XSCACE Range
XSCACE's amplifier range spans a deliberate spread of use cases, and the Air Mini sits at the accessible end of it. The Air Amp above it adds amplification for higher-fidelity two-channel setups; the Xylem series above that is network-configured DSP amplification built for multi-zone and multi-channel installs with per-channel EQ and crossover control from XSCACE Studio. The Air Mini's job is narrower and more specific: get AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, and Spotify Connect streaming into a single small room or system without requiring a rack, a DSP configuration session, or an installer visit.
That makes it the natural source for a single pair of Cane or Bonsai speakers in a secondary room, driven by whatever amplifier the room already has — rather than the starting point for a full whole-home system, where the Xylem series belongs.
